What’s shaking, Wendy Pepper? What have you been up to lately?
I’ve been cooking up a red-hot collection for my first fashion show since appearing on Bravo’s Project Runway. To prove that good taste can taste good, I’m also introducing a yummy food/fashion lollypop called “Lollie Peppers,” in flavors such as champagne and key lime. With names like “gold digger” and “trophy wife,” they’re going to be the culinary accessory of the season!

How did your experience from that show change you? Did it whet your appetite for fame, or make you hungry for more?
Ladies, clear the decks and step into a Wendy Pepper design! Together
we are going to raise the flag of international fashion right here in the nation’s capital!

Are there any perceptions about your Runway “character” that you’d like to correct or change altogether?
Did I mention that I always play to win?

Did you watch the second season? C’mon, let’s dish.
I chose Chloe, and I think that says it all.

Santino vs. Wendy Pepper. Who’d win in a design-off? How about a debating match?
Strap on the protective gear—I run with scissors.

How’s biz going in Middleburg, Va.?
I field e-mails daily from the farthest reaches of the globe—I love doing business from the country.

Tell us about your latest work: Are you sticking to classic evening wear?
Always. Know what you do well, and stick to it.

Is it tough being a working mom, to bring home the bacon and fry it up in a pan?
When I strap my Treo onto my belt, tuck my iPod into my apron pocket and wear my scissors around my neck, there’s not much I can’t accomplish. I think I have it all!

Speaking of which, do you cook as well as you sew?
Out here in the country we don’t have any takeout options, so YES! Anyone with a surname like Pepper has an obligation to cook with aplomb!

Name the best place to dine out in your neck of the woods. How about
in Washington? Where might we find Wendy Pepper on the menu?

I love to go to the Livestock Exchange in Marshall, chow down on some home fries and grits and catch up on local gossip. In Washington I recently had a sinful meal at Zengo.
