Perfect Treat. Sweet teeth need to be indulged, along with your squeeze—so head to Co Co. Sala (929 F St., NW; 202/347-4265; cocosala.com), a lounge for dabblers in chocolate decadence. Best bets: the chocolate mojito, the cupcake of the day or the chocolate-sampler tray.

Perfect Diversion. Zola Wine & Kitchen (800 F St., NW; 202/654-0999; zoladc.com) hosts cooking classes during January and February; also, learn how menus develop for Zola and Potenza. You’ll cook a two- to three-course meal and enjoy a little wine.

Perfect Escape. Remind yourself there’s warmth underneath Mother Nature’s frozen garb. Venture to the U.S. Botanic Garden (100 Maryland Ave., SW; 202/225-8333; usbg.gov)—balmy amid winter’s big chill—where you can relish the impressive collection of tropical flowers beginning Feb. 6 during Orchids: A Cultural Odyssey.

Perfect Buy. We’re sure you’ll strike couture gold at Treasury (1843 14th St., NW, second floor; 202/506-6908; shoptreasury.com), a vintage boutique brimming with bold dresses, chic handbags and a selection of men’s fashion. Don’t miss: Feb. 18, 5–7 p.m., for free refreshments, a D.J. and a local-art spotlight. Look for similar events at the shop every third Thursday each month.

Perfect Stay. It’s official: We dig the “Rub the One You’re With” Valentine’s package at Hotel Rouge (1315 16th St., NW; 202/232-8000; rougehotel.com), which includes a welcome bottle of champagne and private one-hour massage instruction class with personal massage therapist. (Bonus: Ask for the DC Flyer Rate during any weekend in January or February, except Valentine’s weekend, and get $25 off your stay and complimentary continental breakfast.)

Perfect Bite. One of the most romantic spots among the new culinary digs in town, Kellari Taverna (1700 K St., NW; 202/535-5274; kellaridc.com) dishes Mediterranean-infused seafood mezedes (think tapas) from rising-star chef Gregory Zapantis. Strong wine list, too. (Bonus: In January, bring in this page and receive a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine during Saturday or Sunday brunch or a complimentary dessert during Saturday or Sunday dinner.)
